Authorization Roadmap

A phased route through IB Candidacy and Authorization.

The official IB timeline is precise but rarely explained in plain terms. Here is the journey we guide school heads through, phase by phase, up to the verification visit.

I01
Feasibility & Candidacy Request

Laying the groundwork

  • Appoint key roles — a dedicated, trained IBDP Coordinator and a CAS Coordinator.
  • Allocate budget for mandatory official IB professional development workshops (Category 1).
  • Run a feasibility study on regional market demand, staff readiness and legal requirements.
  • Submit the formal Application for Candidacy via the IB information system.
II02
Candidate Status Implementation

Building the compliant school

  • Draft & implement the four mandatory school policies: Language, Inclusion/SEN, Assessment and Academic Integrity.
  • Map curriculum — every department drafts a two-year DP course outline against current subject guides.
  • Procure resources — upgrade labs, library research materials and digital databases to IB global standards.
  • Architect the schedule to meet minimum taught hours (240 HL / 150 SL).
III03
Verification Visit Readiness

Preparing for the final review

  • Engage with your consultant and implement course corrections from feedback.
  • Submit the Application to Authorize — final policies, sample schedules and facility evidence.
  • Brief stakeholders — mock interviews with teachers, parents, board members and students.
  • Coordinate logistics for the official 2-day on-site or virtual IB verification visit.
We walk each phase with you

No school navigates this alone.

We work alongside your coordinators and leadership team at every phase — not just at the milestones.
